Unless I have a shoot that has a deadline, I'm a huge fan of the rain. I love being inside and working while it is raining. It's like my own form of ADHD medication. It makes me concentrate so well!

I am such a fan of fall! I think it's because this summer I just got so burnt out (still sort of am) so this year I was so excited for fall!! yay!

I really should post on this blog more often.

So I've told several people that I was very dramatic when I was younger. For some reason they just don't believe me. Today I would like to prove it to all of you. This is a letter I wrote to my parents when I was 14.

Notice my awesome border and paragraph markers. This was obviously the age of gel pens.

I also love my run on sentence in the last paragraph.

My favorite line: "..every single one of my friends curfew is 11:00 besides Kanani, but her Mom lets her stay out until 11:00 anyway". hahah What?!?!

I received this in an email this morning, so cute I had to share!

WHY GOD MADE MOMS

Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used
bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything
nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related

1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get

Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.

1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom . You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's
who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic
surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get
rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my brother who did it
and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back
of her head.

2010 comes to a close...

This time of year always makes me kind of sad. Christmas is my favorite holiday, but it comes faster every year and then it's over! It has been so nice to be off of school though.

This year had a lot of highlights. I got to go the the Christmas First Presidency Devotional with my friend Steven, and then I got to go to the Morman Tabernacle Choir Concert with David Archuleta with my friend Chad. Both nights were amazing, I'm so glad I got to go with my friends Kanani and Ryan too, Kanani is way awesome and got the tickets.

I also got to make some sweet ginger bread houses with Michelle, Cisco, and Steven at Cisco and Michelle's house. They turned out pretty sweet.

Can you see their puppy Mac that cisco made? The resemblance is unbelievable.

Spending time with my friends and family has been so great as well. Especially watching some of our favorite Christmas movies (Scrooge, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, The Christmas Shoes, Elf, The Grinch, I could go on forever).

Did I mention my little brother Sterling is a pro at building a snowman by himself?

Nilla wafers for the mouth and eyes? Genius.

I just love Christmas. I hope everyone else had a great Christmas too!

Everyone has their collections. I happen to have a collection of snowmen that I've gotten over the years. I don't really know how it happened, but it did. I have approximately (I always lose count) 51 snowmen.

It all started when my brother Joey went on a trip right before his mission with my Dad. They went to Nauvoo, and while they were there they got me a little snowman with my name on it. While I was setting them up this year I decided to take a picture of a few of my favorite ones.

Hello Friends. This is going to be different than a lot of my blog posts and I hope you take the time to read it. My littlest brother Sterling (Ster-fry) has a genetic condition called VCFS. My Dad was recently put on as the VCFS-Educational Foundation President. I'm just going to copy the letter my Dad wrote cause he says it better than I can.

About eight years ago, life for our family changed drastically. Our son, Sterling, was born with a genetic syndrome called velo-cardio-facial syndrome (VCFS). VCFS is caused by a tiny deletion of genetic material from chromosome 22 that contains about 40 genes and is therefore called a microdeletion syndrome. VCFS is the most common microdeletion syndrome in humans, and the second most common multiple anomaly syndrome after Down syndrome. We consider his life a miracle as he struggled to breathe and keep his heart beating several times his first week.

We are most grateful for modern medicine, skilled doctors and specialists. Sterling has had seven surgeries and has been through extensive professional care from occupational therapists, dieticians and speech therapists. We marvel at the progress he has made. As parents we want Sterling to have the best life possible. We are actively involved in making friends and family more aware. We are most excited that the 17th Annual International Scientific Meeting of the Velo-Cardio-Facial Educational Foundation, Inc. will be held this year in Salt Lake City, July 15th - 18th.

This prestigious meeting has been held in most major cities in the U.S. as well as in Great Britain, France, Italy, and Australia and has been hosted by prestigious institutions such as Stanford and Harvard to name a few. To make this conference successful we need to raise funds to support the ability to bring scientists from all over the world to speak. I am asking if you can assist by making a financial contribution for the conference. All money that you donate is tax-deductable; the VCFS Educational Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Here’s how to donate:

They are definitely page turners. They even have yummy recipes throughout them, I haven't tried any of them but they sound delicious. You should go get them and read them! They're good, why else would I post about them? haha

I wanted to get her something really special (and yummy) before she left on our last night together. This place did just the trick. They have the cutest cupcakes, cakes, and cookies. The Best Cookies Ever

So I made this yesterday, and I thought I would post the recipe on my blog to share the goodness with others. This is the perfect autumn time cookie. If you like pumpkin cookies.....these are much better! Enjoy.

Applesauce Chocolate Chip Cookies

Stir together in a mixing bowl and set aside:

1 C. applesauce (unsweetened)

1 t. baking soda

Cream Together:

1/2 C. shortening

2 eggs

1 cup sugar

Add:

1 1/2 t. cinnamon

1 1/2 t. cloves

1 1/2 t. nutmeg

*be generous with the spices :)

1/2 t. salt

Gradually mix in the applesauce.

Gradually add:

2 C. flour

1 C. (or more) chocolate chips.

Place spoonfuls of cookie batter on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-9 min.

Yield: About 3 Dozen

So this week my family all went to our biannual Joseph Smith Sr and Lucy Mack Smith family reunion. We chartered a bus and drove to Nauvoo stopping at other places on the way. So yesterday my family and my friend's family all went up to their cabin up by sundance. I loved being in the crisp clean air and the little bit cooler weather. We had tin foil dinners, hot dogs, smores, and wasabi fried peas (okay not all of us). But it was a lot of fun. :)

I loved the tulip festival! I'm so glad I got to go. My roommate Sarah and I went up after having an amazing brunch at Blue Lemon. If you haven't been there, you should go. In the morning it was pouring down rain, but once we got there it stopped just long enough for us to enjoy the whole walk around the tulip festival, as we were leaving it starting pouring again (of course). There are a lot of birthdays in my extended family in March. This weekend my family and I went to dinner to celebrate Bryan's birthday who is turning 14 and Joey's birthday who is turning 25. It was a lot of fun. We went to Los Hermanos for dinner and unfortunately I didn't get enough pictures so there aren't pictures of everyone on here. It was fun though. Later that night we all watched Brian Regan. He is hilarious.

6 Things I Love

I have been tagged. Now you get to see 6 things I love.

1. I love my family. They are the greatest. We have the best time together and I wouldn't replace a single one of them. I love them.

2. I love music, all kinds of music. I love listening to a beautiful harmony. I love playing the piano. I also love to sing, although I'm definitely not the best singer out there. There is nothing better then listening to music in the car while it is raining.

3. I love photography. I am definitely still learning, but I have loved it since I was little. I finally have a good camera that can do what I want.

4. I love interesting noises. Such as: Heels on the sidewalk or marble, rain on a tin roof, a knife cutting through an apple or a potato, the sound of your scriptures opening, dripping water, and so on and so forth.

5. I love seeing a completed project, whether it is taking a picture, baking something, painting something, designing something, editing something. I just love the end where I can see all of my hard work paid off. That must be why I chose interior design as my major.

6. I love to travel. I hope to someday visit lots of exciting places. Especially with my camera around my neck. I would love to go to Europe. I also would love to go to a deserted island somewhere. Someday...someday.

Valentine's Day!!!

Lucky Me! I had two dates for Valentine's Day. My little brother Sterling and my nephew Josh. :) Sterling has been really excited for our annual "Valentine's party" where we usually don't party much apart from making something to decorate. This year it was cupcakes and cookies. It was a good day. It was very cold though. We took Josh out in the snow to play and he absolutely loved it. We were also able to see Joey and Sheradon and Rob and Tia. They visited and played the wii with us. It was a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Today my Dad turned "30-18" as he likes to call it. We had the whole family over for a big turkey dinner to celebrate. Even though it was his birthday, we all got a present. My sister-in-law Sheradon is pregnant! That means my nephew Josh will be an older brother. I'm so excited for her, and for myself of course. Joe and Kathy, our good family friends, were able to come over later and play games. Overall it was a great evening, we all had a lot of fun. I even made rolls and the cake! I felt very domestic.

Every year we get together as a family on January 26th to celebrate my oldest brother Josh's birthday who passed away after he was born. Yesterday he would have been 26 years old. My family was all able to meet at Carino's Italian Restaurant. It was a lot of fun, great family and great company. I'm so grateful for my wonderful family.

So I'm new at this blogging thing. I've had this blog for about a year but I have never touched it. Tonight instead of doing homework, I decided to update it!
